The final three properties from the once-dominant Twynam Agriculture Group sol to Optifarm, a group of investors from the Netherlands and Merrowie by a US-based institution, MRA Merrowie Pty Ltd. Record prices have been achieved repeatedly for a variety of farming districts, including ‘Glen Alvie’, ‘ Hillview’ & ‘Highfields’, a prime fat lamb & backgrounding cattle operation, which sold to a corporate investment syndicate. ASX-listed entities have been prevalent purchasers, with one such company acquiring ‘Comanche’, a 7600-hectare cattle propery in central Queensland. Private farming families have consisitently been winning bidders too, with the likes of ‘Coladdi’ in the Liverpool plains & Galloway Plains’ near Calliope in Queensland selling to expanding farming interests.
